My experience in photography goes back to my days in art college, spending endless hours in the darkroom experimenting with film and paper. In the latter half of the 1980's I began a career as an art director in the advertising and design industry, 23 years and over 1,000 photo shoots later I'm now doing it for myself - since the middle of 2012, back in my home county of Durham.
Being a photographer allows me to meet and get to know lots of different people and personalities - and be part of their special moments in life. And not to forget our four-legged friends - in tandem with my event and people photography is my love of photographing horses and dogs, either with or without their owners, especially outdoors in this beautiful countryside of ours.
My approach to weddings and those most special of events is relaxed and informal, I prefer to capture things as they happen and try to create that same informality with a posed or group shot. The most emotional and natural of images can only be caught when the photographer stands back and allows things to happen.
I take great pride in my photography, my standards are high and it’s always a pleasure to provide my clients with beautiful images to treasure and enjoy in the years to come.
